Del Park, born Delbert Earl Park in 1946, has been painting since before he can fully remember: his mother, born in 1915, wanted an artist son, and he grew into exactly that, earning an art degree with a painting concentration, a teaching credential, and a master's degree along the way. Oil is his preferred medium, and his Smoker Series traces back to childhood, watching the way cigarette smoke curled and moved and never sat still.
